...'Paris in the rain, can it be more perfect?'
As AVIE continues to grow we look towards shows like TRANOI that establish relationships and showcase beautiful work from around the globe; while drawing in renowned buyers and industry professionals.
Me, with my usually ‘it will be fine’ mentally, decided not to take an umbrella to Paris and upon arrival found myself taking refuge in a pub doorway – waiting out the torrential rain. (Sonya eloquently delivers the line ‘told you so’)
Snaking my away around TRANOI I stumbled across an amazing accessories brand called ‘illicia’ a luxury handbag designer who’s philosophy is to create a sophisticated fusion of craftsmanship and quality – all the while pushing the limits. I immediately loved their collection, got to know Ilham and learnt about her sister Idil and the brand. We played with the idea of collaborating on our next photoshoot. Watch this space for further details.
My first day was filled with discovering new brands and showrooms throughout Paris; not to mention the 22km of walking; finishing with a beautiful mini photoshoot with my friend Chelsea Flinn. Following her graduate collection being picked up by London and Milan Graduate Fashion Week. Chelsea is now currently working for Givenchy in Paris and discovering a new city and language.
We will have a more in-depth blog into Chelsea’s life as a fashion designer coming this November. Pictured wearing the Trench 1.0 from our AW19 Edition 1.0 Collection
Finishing off my quick trip to Paris with a few beers, talks about politics, life, futures, and more. Ending with an impromptu birthday celebration with a group of young Parisians I met that evening. Such a fun gathering of talented and vibrant personalities. Fun times to end a perfect weekend at Paris Fashion Week TRANOI.
